Anew wayto see the future

Söderhem is a new category of long living — combining architecture, community and health thinking for independent adults who want more from the decades ahead.

See the model

What it is

We live longer. The world has not caught up.

Longer life has changed how we live, how we relate to one another and how we picture the future. Housing, services and cities still answer with models designed for another era. Söderhem exists to align time, life and space with responsibility and a long view.

01

Designed environment

Architecture that is calm, generous and quietly careful. It anticipates needs without turning life into permanent adaptation.

02

Designed community

Intentional, never imposed. Built to make encounters easy and to respect each person’s rhythm.

03

Sustained autonomy

Care exists when it is needed, discreetly and respectfully, without defining the experience of living.

Life first. Everything else follows.

To be clear

This is not assisted living

Long living starts from autonomy and the wish to keep moving. Care exists when needed, discreetly and respectfully, without defining the experience of living.

This is not medicalised housing

Nothing here resembles an institution. Accessibility is built into the design naturally, and social life is part of the everyday.

It is senior living, said differently

Internationally this model is called senior living, or independent living. We say long living, because the starting point is not age — it is continuity.
